Important Reminders and information
- Wednesday, April 8th is a 1/2 day of school dismissal at 1:05
- During the PAARC testing taken place in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, we have to make changes in our Specialist schedule times. The children may tell you that they had gym first thing in the morning instead of later in the afternoon.
- Thank you for the supplies that have been coming in!! We have, once again, been going through LOTS of kleenex! Any kleenex donations will be greatly appreciated! The classroom can also use sanitizing wipes and paper towels. We are also in need of plastic spoons for their healthy fruit cups and yogurts that they eat at snack!
- Please remember to put library books in backpacks on Sunday night! Return Our Books On Time (Robot Award) will be given to classes that remember to return their books on time on book exchange day (for our class that is every Monday).
- My weekly newsletter is usually typed up on a Thursday or Friday night. I try to follow through with the homework that has been noted on the sheet. There are times, (due to changes in schedule, special activities, etc). that the homework noted for that night did not come home. I usually tell the students. It should come home another night. Sometimes, even though I give reminders, the kids leave their homework in their box. Please don't make a big deal of the homework. It is important but I understand family commitments, etc. Have your student bring it in when it gets done. I do appreciate you working with the students and the work that comes home is a continuation of what we learn in school. So I apologize ahead of time if you find a scheduled homework assignment did not come. There are other things you can do at home:
- read to or with your child, listen to your child read
- take out the list of first grade sight words in the packet I sent home, and practice the words
- practice addition and subtraction math facts using flashcards.
-And as always....thank you for all the support you give your child at home.
